Gnásanna & Eolas Ginearálta

An Ghaeilge i mBunscoil Lán-Ghaelach

Is í an Ghaeilge teanga labhartha na scoile. Is é an cur chuige atá i gceist ná go bhfaighidh an páiste seilbh ar an dara teanga seo ar an tslí chéanna agus a dhein sé/sí i gcás na céad teanga – ó bheith á thuiscint, ag éisteacht léi, ag aithint aonad comhréire inti agus sa deireadh ag giniúint focal, ráite agus abairtí uaidh/uaithi féin.

Tá buntáistí ag gabháil le bheith í ngleic leis an dara teanga ag an léibhéal seo. Is bunaithe ar fhíorbhréagáin agus ar fhíorthrealamh atá na gníomhaíochtaí agus an teanga a ghabhann leo; tá ciall na bhfocal le tuiscint uathu féin nó is feidir iad a cheangal le gníomhartha agus le hócáidí a tharlaíonn arís is arís eile. Déantar an teanga nua a chomhcheangal le duine, le háit agus le gníomhaíochtaí áirithe.

Déanfaidh an Múinteoir iarracht ar chumas cainte na bpáistí a fhorbairt agus ar chur lena stór focal ó scéalta agus dánta a chur ar eolas dóibh, ón drámaíocht agus ó chomhrá a dhéanamh leo.

Am

  1. Tosaíonn an scoil ar 9.00 r.n. Tá sé tábhachtach go ngabhfadh na páistí chucu féin an nós a bheith ar scoil in am. Níl aon bhall d’fhoireann na scoile freagrach as páistí a bheidh sa chlós roimh am oifigiúil tionóil. Ar chúiseanna sábháilteachta, táthar ag brath go siúlfaidh na daltaí i gcónaí agus iad i gclós na scoile. Tá dianchosc ar rith i gclós na scoile.
  2. Níl cead ag páistí dul isteach sa scoil roimh 8.45r.n.
  3. Críochnaíonn an lá scoile do ranganna na Naíonán Shóisearach agus Shinsearach ar 1.40 i.n. Níl cead ag Naíonán imeacht abhaile ina n-aonar ach amháin sa chás go bhfuil a leithéad iarrtha go sonrach i scríbhinn ag tuismitheoirí. Is ceart do cibé duine a thiocfaidh go dtí an scoil ag triall ar do pháiste a bheith i gclós na scoile roimh 1.30 i.n. chun nach mbeadh suaitheadh gan ghá ar an bpáiste. Críochnaíonn an lá scoile do dhaltaí na ranganna eile ar a 2.40 i.n.

Irish in the All Irish Primary School

Irish is the spoken language in the school. The idea is that the child will acquire this second language in the way that s/he acquired the first – by understanding, listening, isolating structures and eventually producing words, phrases and sentences.

There are advantages to be gained from exposure to a second language at this level. The activities and the language connected with them are based on real toys and equipment; words are self-explanatory or can be linked to actions and recurring events. The new language is associated with a person, a place and certain activities.

The Múinteoir will try to develop the speaking ability of the children to extend their vocabulary by introducing them to stories and poems, by drama and by involving them in conversation.
